US and China: Ways of Togetherness

In an era of tense relations between the two most consequential nations on the global stage, “US and China: Ways of Togetherness”, hosted by the CIWA, will be a one-day, broad-based symposium focusing on US-China connections from a specifically Pacific Northwest perspective. Our territory will include an update on current business relations, a discussion of best practices in Chinese language education with a focus on immersion experience, cultural conversation with poets, artists and musicians, and finally a discussion among leaders of major public-facing, China-connected gardens in Portland, Tacoma, and Seattle, the last of which, the Seattle Chinese Garden, being the venue for our discussion. More information can be found here. Welcome one and all. (Please RSVP at mikel.edwards@plu.edu)
